Hearing an old long-beard gobbling back to my calls just over the ridge really gets my blood pumping in the springtime.
I work in the Cardiac Cath Lab at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in beautiful Mountain Home, TN. I love working for the Veterans who have willingly risked their safety and lives for this wonderful country so that we may enjoy our freedom. It is an honor and privilege to be able to give back to our veterans who have made it to where we can take part in the things we love to do at 3B Outdoors like hunting and fishing.
My wife and I were blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Easton Wilder Light, in September 2013 and things have been wild ever since then. I can’t wait until he is old enough to join me in the spring turkey woods or share a duck blind with him in the winter.
Growing up, life was all about sports and to this day I love all kinds of sports, especially the University of Tennessee! I didn’t start hunting until I was about 12 or 13 and killed my first deer when I was 14 years old, from that day on I have been hooked. Deer hunting turned into a love for turkey hunting and eventually into waterfowl hunting as well. It is tough to beat a morning on the river, setting decoys, watching the sun rise, and listening to the whistling wings of mallards fly overhead as they cup up and drop into the decoys. In the springtime, hearing an old longbeard gobbling back to my calls just over the ridge really gets my blood pumping.
I am very fortunate to be a part of 3B Outdoors and feel very privileged in getting to travel all over the country filming and hunting all kinds of critters. Deer hunting and turkey hunting with Freddie, Clayton, and Fess have been some of the greatest moments of my life, and also the greatest education lessons I have ever had. Had it not been for hunting with those guys, I would have never had as much hunting success as I have had. They are a blast to hunt with, and I love going with them and soaking up all the knowledge they have. I am very thankful for those guys and for teaching me pretty much everything I know about hunting. Hopefully one day I can pass on this knowledge and passion to my own son Easton. God Bless and Good Hunting!
